Press reviews

The story of how Mark Hollis wrestled with the commercial demands of the 1980s has become the stuff of myth. But every mythical tale requires a worthy storyteller – a challenge elegantly met by Ben Wardle.

Pete Paphides

Impeccably researched – a proper, full-scale archaeological dig into the life and work of one of our most revered artists. A revelation on every page.

Jude Rogers

An intensely private man revealed … well-researched … Wardle is excellent on the process
